Saniflo 042 is the replacement neutralizing agent for the Sanicondens Best Flat condensate pump (044) and the Sanineutral condensate neutralization kit (043). Condensate from condensing boilers, high-efficiency furnaces and condensing water heaters is acidic, typically pH 3.2 to 4.5, which is enough to stain surfaces, kill plantings and corrode cast iron and metal drain lines. As condensate flows through the granules, the media dissolves slowly and raises the pH to a level that is safe to discharge to the drain. The granules are consumed over time, so they should be checked during annual appliance maintenance and topped up or replaced when the level drops or the discharge pH falls; how long a charge lasts depends on the appliance's size and run hours. To refill, disconnect power to the pump, open the neutralizer compartment, remove any spent residue and add fresh granules to the fill line. One container refills the Sanicondens Best Flat; for larger systems or several units, the 046 refill bucket is more economical. Shipping weight about 3 lb.
