Description

A Safgard 550 low water cut-off wired for 120 V. Electronic cut-offs of this type sense water using a probe rather than a float, which means there is no mechanical linkage to stick and no float chamber to silt up — a common failure mode on older float-operated units in dirty systems. Its function is the same: cut the burner before a low water condition damages the boiler. It still needs periodic testing.
