Description

An 8 oz tin of pipe dope, the traditional thread sealant. It is brushed onto male threads and seals the joint as it is pulled up, filling the spiral leak path the threads leave behind. Slow-drying and non-hardening, so a joint made with it can be broken again later — which is why it remains standard on threaded steel and iron work. Check the label for the services it is rated for before using it on gas.
