Description

An OCS CE 424 copper convector element with brass headers: 4" nominal depth, 24" nominal length, rated at 16.0 square feet EDR - about 3,840 BTU/hr on steam at 240 BTU per square foot, or roughly 2,400 BTU/hr on hot water. A mid-length element, the size most rooms take once furniture and doors are allowed for. Copper carries heat away from the water faster than steel, so a copper element gives more output than a steel one of the same size - CE 424 is rated well above the equivalent SE 424. The tube is 1/2" ID, 5/8" OD copper with brass headers tapped 3/4" and a 1/4" plug; the element measures 3-3/4" deep and 2" high, and 23.75" end to end. Approximate weight 2.5 lb.
