A 5" black plastic sleeve for pipe penetrations. The sleeve is cast or built into the wall or slab first, and the pipe passes through it rather than through the structure directly — which keeps the pipe free to move as it expands and contracts, protects it from the concrete, and leaves a clean opening that can be firestopped or sealed properly. It also means the pipe can be replaced later without breaking out the structure around it.
