A 3 inch grooved coupling. The coupling also allows a small amount of angular deflection at each joint, which lets a grooved run absorb building movement and thermal expansion without needing separate expansion provision. That flexibility is a design feature rather than slack - but it does mean the run has to be properly braced where movement is not wanted.
