A 3" black iron plug. At this size it is closing an outlet on a heating main or a large gas fitting rather than a small tapping. Worth remembering that a plug on a live main is holding full system pressure on its threads alone - it wants proper sealant and to be made up fully, not run in a couple of turns to keep dirt out.
