A 3" copper cap. At 3" the fitting itself is a significant cost, so it is not something to solder on speculatively - a cap this size is closing a genuinely redundant main. Getting the joint hot enough is the practical difficulty: it needs proper heat and a clean, fully fluxed surface, or the solder will bridge the gap without actually wetting the metal.
