Description

A 1" spiral screw extractor, size #9. Extractors are what get a broken nipple or bolt out of a fitting: the tapered spiral is driven into the remains and bites harder the more it is turned counter-clockwise, backing the broken piece out. The #9 suits 1" work - the largest of the common sizes. Drill the pilot hole centrally, because an off-centre hole usually ends with the extractor snapping inside the fitting.
