Description

An 11 oz cartridge of firestop caulk, for sealing the gap around a pipe where it passes through a fire-rated wall or floor. A penetration left open lets fire and smoke through the barrier, so the annular space has to be closed with a rated material rather than ordinary caulk. This is standard work on any repipe or new run that crosses a rated assembly, and it is one of the details an inspector looks for.
