Description

A 5 lb tub of plumber's putty, used for bedding fittings where a watertight seal is needed but no pressure is involved. The usual jobs are setting a sink strainer, bedding a pop-up or drain flange, and sealing under a faucet base. It stays soft rather than curing, which is what lets a fitting be dismantled later, but that also means it is not a substitute for a gasket or thread sealant on a pressurised joint.
