Description

A 4" ductile iron 90 degree elbow. Ductile iron is used for buried mains because it tolerates ground movement and external loading far better than grey cast iron, which is brittle. The 4" size covers services and smaller distribution mains. As with any bend on a pressurised main, the thrust at the elbow has to be restrained rather than left to the joints.
