Description

A 2" flare union. A flare joint seals metal to metal - the tube end is flared to a cone and clamped against the fitting seat by the nut - so there is no gasket or thread compound in the seal. That makes it suitable where a soft seal would not be acceptable and where the joint must be capable of being broken and remade. Flares must be formed properly: an off-centre or cracked flare will not seat.
