Description

An OCS SE 420 steel convector element: 4" high, 20" nominal length, rated at 12.0 square feet EDR. EDR is the figure to size against - one square foot is 240 BTU/hr on steam and roughly 150 BTU/hr on hot water, so this element carries about 2,880 BTU/hr on steam. The shortest elements in the range suit a narrow run - under a small window, in a bathroom, or filling a short wall between a door and a corner. The element is the working part that goes inside a baseboard or convector enclosure: a steel tube with steel fins pressed onto it, so the water gives up its heat to air moving through the cover. Approximate weight 5.25 lb. Note that OCS elements are made 1/2" shorter than the nominal length, and can be squeezed to reduce the depth where an enclosure is tight.
