Description

A 40 VA control transformer, the part that steps line voltage down to the low-voltage supply a heating control circuit runs on. Thermostats, zone valves, relays and aquastats all draw from it, and the 40 VA rating is the common size where several zone valves pull at once. A dead transformer is a routine service call: the boiler itself is fine, but nothing in the control circuit will respond until it is replaced.
