3" sweat-end check valve. Passes flow one way and closes against reverse flow, protecting a pump and stopping backflow into the supply. A swing check: the disc falls closed under gravity and back-pressure, so orientation matters — follow the flow arrow on the body. Soldered directly into copper tube.
