A 2-1/2" grooved coupling. Grooved systems join pipe by clamping a coupling into a groove rolled or cut into the pipe end, with a gasket inside making the seal. The whole joint is mechanical, so it goes together with hand tools and comes apart again - which is why grooved is standard on fire protection, where the system has to be maintainable.
