A 1/4" brass pigtail, angle pattern. A coiled siphon that mounts between a steam line and a pressure gauge: the coil traps condensate so live steam never reaches the gauge movement. Red brass resists dezincification and corrosion, so it is used on potable water and at exposed connections to fixtures, water heaters and valves where a steel nipple would rust.
